Home: The Toast

Like many of you, I have an unhealthy obsession with House of Cards, mostly because I think Claire Underwood is perfect, and wish I could be 8% like her.

My parents informed me they were massive fans of the British edition, which ran for four episodes on the BBC in 1990, and, because I’m inclined to assume that British versions of things will be classier than American versions, I always imagined it was a lot more subtle and slow-moving and so on. You know, a lot more policy-heavy.

IT’S NOT. (It’s great, don’t worry.) It is literally nineteen times as ridic.

Anyway, please enjoy the equivalent of the “WHAT” scene from the second season of the US series, complete with the Stamper character being a total creepster who could be playing a moustache-twirling-tying-women-to-railroad sort and a bunch of daddy-talk and then, you know, the thing.
