EMMA’S DRESS. All of it, but chiefly: EMMA’S DRESS.
“DO AS I SAY, CHILD, or by heaven, I’ll ask you again.”
Fine, and handsome, and smooth, and shiny. I could watch Stephen Fry bellow at Emma Thompson every day for the rest of my life.
Mallory is an Editor of The Toast.
I don’t know which is funnier–having the boom mike appearing in frame as accident or on purpose.
I read your comment before watching the sketch, so I was monitoring the top of the screen looking for a boom mic to droop into frame somewhere. I was not expecting the actual occurrence. That was not at all subtle, wow.
Can we just please remember that when they all roomed together, Emma would lock all the doors and then chase Stephen around the house naked? ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tpCGvcqO1U )
EXCUSE ME BUT WHAT IS THIS SHOW?
I don’t mind telling all of your lovely selves that I’ve never head of Q.I. before, and somehow that feels like a real shame of my life, but now, oh now, on this Friday afternoon with nothing but open weekend ahead of me, it’s like the sun has come out and all is right with the world once more.
My job here is done, citizen!
AWAAAAYYYYYYYYYY!
That. Is. Fucking. Glorious.
Hugh twirls perfectly. *sigh*
My god I needed that in my life this afternoon.
That. Is. Fucking. Glorious.
You have a noble thigh, sir.
Is “noble thigh” a quotation from one of the gayer bits in Coriolanus? Or perhaps from All For Love, which is Dryden’s very gay take on Antony and Cleopatra?
Also, this is apparently happening: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2403439/fullcredits?r…
Here for the dress. It didn’t disappoint.
YES! I love that story. Look at that cast. OMG.
I mean The Canterville Ghost. Nesting fail.
And the ending…. ' oh…'
Hugh’s speech about ‘ever since I heard she had a father, I was fascinated by you’ is definitely a play on Cecily’s speech to Algernon in the Importance of Being Earnest and I love everything about it.
I had a sudden realization- is the name "Mr. Surname" a Python reference or some larger part of British culture? In their sketches, the Pepperpots were called things like Mrs. Premise or Mrs. Non-Gorilla.
