Have we really not visited the cheerful spies Control and Tony yet? Well, I think it would sound just delightful. Almost as delightful as a cup of coffee, I shouldn’t wonder.
“Hello, this is the Secret Service. Who is this, please?”
I will never, never tire of sketches featuring people in traditionally dangerous, vicious jobs speaking like enormously polite young children to one another. The bland blocks of exposition they deliver nearly-affectlessly at one another is incredibly soothing; this is my ASMR.
“I think I can picture the scene, here you were at the window, so engrossed in what you were doing, that you neglected not to fall out of it. Am I pretty near the mark?”
“Spot on, Tony.”

Another Control & Tony sketch has one of my favorite F&L jokes of all time:
“This contraption is called a telescupe.”
“Telescupe?”
“Yes, though I ought to point out that that’s *also* a code name.”

These are my absolute favorite Fry and Laurie sketches. Squee!
I was knee deep in studying for my finals senior year & some kind soul on the internet recommended reading all the notes I had to memorize in Control & Tony’s voice and it was 1000% helpful.
These Fry & Laurie Fridays make Friday, already the best day of the week, even better. It’s harder than picking a favorite child, but I think Tony & Control have to be my favorite characters on the show.
I’m hoping we get to John and Peter soon. DAAAMNNN!!
DAMMIT FOUR TIMES AROUND THE CAR PARK AND BACK IN FOR ANOTHER DAMMIT!
(Why, yes, I have watched every John and Peter sketch on Youtube multiple times after bingewatching ABOFAL months earlier after this became a Toast feature; why do you ask?)
This is the Britishest thing to ever have Britished.

My love for these two characters knows no bounds.
SPOILER: the last one never fails to break my heart.
Oh god I wish you hadn’t mentioned this, because it made me think of the last one, which is the SADDEST THING EVER ON TELEVISION.
I really want Control and Tony to make out.
