A Bit Of Fry And Laurie Friday: Where Is The Lid?

“A savage, savage, angry song.”

An excellent left turn into darkness around the minute mark.

If it’s actually Friday right now and I’m a day behind I’m going to be simultaneously so happy and so so sad

I saw a lot of A Bit of Fry and Laurie as a kid due to my mom being a huge Hugh Laurie superfan but “Where is the Lid” is the segment that I remember best because child-me thought it was the funniest shit ever.

Ah yes that time on Friday afternoons when I’m just about to get really, super totally productive and then Mallory holds me down and forces me to click through 300 A Bit of Fry and Laurie clips.
    Have you no decency?

Ahhh, my favorite Fry and Laurie song! I sing it at least once a week while I muddle around in my cupboards looking for the medium sized lid that goes with the Ikea tupperware…

I thought we weren’t really doing F&LF any more. But! A mercy from heaven! I needed it. Thank you.

No exaggeration, probably my favorite comedy sketch of all time. I just…it’s a bit designed in a lab to tickle me to no end. Back in the day when people still put personal quotes in the “About” section of Facebook, mine was “Where is the lid?”

I was re-watching Gosford Park the other day and Stephen Fry shows up as a terrible detective. Sort of like one he played in later Jeeves and Wooster episodes. The first time I saw Gosford Park, I new nothing of either of them. All these years sponging up popular culture have finally paid off in a grand way.
