Zach and Jason met in college in a freshman philosophy seminar called ‘Existentialism, Platonism, Pragmatism.’ Their heads still hurt. This is their first collaboration on a bio in the third person.
That’s adorable! I love that he said, “… you have to use ALL of them.” I’m so happy I got to have a Lou Reed encounter before he died. I was at Lula’s Sweet Apothecary, a delicious vegan ice creamery in the East Village. He walked in with a small group of people and kept asking if they had any sugar-free ice cream. “No sir, our ice cream is dairy-free and cholesterol-free…” “Sugar-free! You don’t have ANYTHING sugar-free?” He walked out empty handed. I just read that he cut out sugar after being diagnosed with diabetes. Makes his grumpiness even more endearing.
LULA’S <3 <3 <3
Poor Lou. No one should ever have to miss out on Lula’s.
Loved this! Did you ever write the blog post?
Yep! But I had no photos to include, sadly.
It pleases me greatly to know that Lou Reed was taking loads of photos at a Laurie Anderson concert, just like any proud spouse/family member. He was her #1 fan!
Aaaand now my heart just broke a little. Wish we could bend the laws of physics.
satelliteof<3@…..com!
I like this so much, and I am here to talk about Laurie Anderson’s “Strange Angels” album all day.
It’s my favorite one!!
My dad had her computer… experience… thing, “Puppet Motel,” and I used to spend HOURS messing with it. So deeply weird! So awesome!
I grew up on “Mister Heartbreak” and “Big Science.” I was a weird kid.
