Why do you think I bought all that Jamie Lee Curtis yoghurt

dying laughing. dead, posting this comment from the afterlife.

(I think maybe we need that bikini one on a t-shirt.)

Kendra I love the way you draw bodies! For some reason particularly the woman looking over the back of the sofa – her haunches and her ankle, love, and the lusciously full-figured bikini babe.

      1. ilikemints +22

I was going to make this same comment! Is it weird that just looking at the Girl Tips #5 made me feel really good about my body (which I don’t, normally), because I’m built exactly like that. Honestly gonna take a screen shot and look at it whenever I feel bad.

YESSSS. I have that belly. I love that belly. I love that drawing, and the happy thinner person, and the punky looking person on the end too! EVERYBODY WEAR BIKINIS!*

        *according to their comfort level!

The punky looking person appears to be a dude, which makes me love the illustration even more. 🙂

Thank you so much! Body diversity representation 4 lyfe!!! Y’all are beautiful as hell!!

Thank you for showing the lady on the far right, AKA straight up-and-down lady. My relative lack of waist is why I’ve always been hesitant to wear a bikini (OK, along with all the surgery scars), but f*ck that noise, I’m in!

Ahhhh, so good. If dudes can’t accept that women have bodily functions, I don’t even know what to say. My boyfriend certainly knows that I poop. And fart, and barf, and menstruate, and all sorts of other great things. One of the joys of having a meatsack body!

    1. fondue with cheddar +10

My last boyfriend wouldn’t hear anything about my period except, “I got my period,” and, “my period is over.”

My current boyfriend is not grossed out by periods; has no qualms about being in the room while I’m pooping (but I do); is fine with discussing the details of my yeast infection, hemorrhoids, UTI, vaginal discharge, or diarrhea; and has cleaned up my chunky puke. He’s not squeamish about anything!

I posited that my husband was The One when, two months after we started dating, he held my hair back as I yuked my guts out after Winter Formal my senior year in college.

He confirmed this hypothesis a year later, when he stuck around after I collapsed with a life-threatening heart condition. But it all started with the barfing.

        1. fondue with cheddar +5

Wow, I’m glad he was there for you! I’m glad you were okay.

Events like that are scary (my puking incident was actually the start of something scary) but it’s nice when they happen early in a relationship so you can see what they’re really made of.

The very best thing about being a bikini-wearing chubby person is getting a striped tan on your belly because you sat reading in the sun with your belly rolls out.

My boyfriend calls them my tiger stripes, and says “she’s a tiger in the sack!”.

ETA: woops, I posted this in the wrong place! But whatevs, the comment stands, my bikini attitude is taking over.

        1. robotneedslove +7

          Thank you. ME TOO.

But I will say this: my boyfriend LIKES chubby girls. He’s not some kind of hero for dating me. My chub gives him chubs.

          1. celyse +4

Yes! Yes. Let me be clear: I do not want to give him alone a standing ovation, although he sounds perfectly lovely. I want to thumbs up your life because you sound like an awesome person and I would like to hoot and clap at your continued existence, including your relationship with other people like this perfectly-lovely-sounding-boyfriend.

(Also stealing “chubs-for-chub,” if you don’t object, because it is AWESOME.)

I am in love with the tankini, as a Very Pale Person who will inevitably get sunburned at the beach or water park No Matter What, but who also needs to use the toilet sometimes. Sunburned stomach – SO TERRIBLE. Peeling off and then putting back on cold, clammy tank suit – ALSO TERRIBLE. Tankini – PREVENTS BOTH.

        1. shahea +4

I kind of like one pieces, but I do prefer the freedom of the bikini (except when the water gets to the top of the bottom and then it’s about to touch your bare flesh and NOW suddenly the water temp drops 10 degrees, I swear.)

        2. sednarea51 +8

I have only ever worn one-pieces (I feel self-conscious about my stomach, plus I am also a Very Pale Person) but I am tempted to try a tankini now, because peeling off a one-piece to use the can is The Worst.

          1. Alli525 +5

Do it! Tankinis are the best. I got a one-piece for the first time since, I don’t know, early middle school? after spending my teens and early 20s in tankinis, and I must say I don’t love it. It’s all retro-adorable but I miss the freedom of having my bottoms separate.

          2. SarcasticFringehead +6

So it is possible to sort of pull the crotch-part of a one-piece to the side and pee, although it may require the reviled hovering, and you have to make sure it’s situated right afterward. (but actually I go swimming in men’s trunks and a tank top over a bikini top because of sunburn and also lazy grooming habits, so it’s been a while since I’ve tried it)

          3. Stella +4

Yeah, I just pee in the ocean, aint nobody got time for finding a grimy lavatory… I wear athletic-style one pieces at the beach, because I do athletic-type things at the beach – those flimsy Target bikinis aren’t going to support this jelly during volleyball (or hell, even frisbee realistically). More power to the bikini rockers of the world!

          4. NicoleCliffe +58

If you are in the ocean, and you get out to pee, you are seriously deluded as to what the ocean consists of.

      2. BourneApprox +15

To be fair, (and I say this as a bikini-wearer), one-pieces are substantially safer for swimming, wave diving, and other “poppage”-prone situations!

        1. rosalineee +6

This is how I feel. I live right next to the ocean and love to go diving through the waves, and it is way more fun without worrying if the bottom is going to get pulled off in the next wave! Plus less surface area to sunscreen.

    Re: Girl Tips #5
While I have no problem with feminine bodily functions, I’m just going to go ahead and recommend Poo-Pourri. It may seem a little overpriced, but it actually works at making poops not smell. This is really good for shared bathrooms with poor ventilation.

    1. Abanthis +2

Apparently putting essential oils in a spray bottle is a decent cheaper alternative 🙂

  4. CatFoodParty +11

YES! Number Four has been my motto for YEARS. I’m overweight and I wear a two-piece and I don’t give a fuck what people think!

    1. combledore +22

I bought my first real bikini in ages to wear on my honeymoon. I’m calling it my fuck-you bikini.

    2. robotneedslove +11

It’s great! Woohoo! I like my bikinis to sparkle, cause you should definitely probably look at me while chubby in a bikini.

    3. cherrispryte +14

      YES TEAM FATKINI 4 LYFE.

Motherfucking Wal-mart, of all places, had the cutest plus size bikinis last summer, for like $20. And they ran big and were glorious perfection. There is something so incredibly confidence-instilling in walking around in a bikini when fat. I mean, it’s slightly terrifying, because people, but mostly its awesome. This was my second summer doing so, but the first in which I wore it often enough to get a tanned belly, which was amazing.

So yeah, somebody turn that “fabulous” graphic into a t-shirt or a print or something ASAP please?

      1. steampunk sparrow +6

My fatkini this year consisted of a rainbow-striped maternity swim top (lol I’m not preggers, but I am all belly) and a cute, ruched black swimskirt. I have never felt better or more confident on the beach than I did in that suit. 😀

I had a dream the other night where some dude was trying to rape me, and I wondered in the dream if I might be able to rip his balls off.
