The first time I met someone who didn’t lend his books to anyone, I was shocked and a little miffed that he wouldn’t let me borrow a book. Now I understand. He was right to do it. He was wiser than us all.

      I have a confession. A book confession.

For a dozen or so of my favorite books, I keep decoy copies. When I spot them for cheap at the library book sale or the thrift store, I buy extra copies so I can have a spare on hand. Sometimes I explicitly give them away, but mostly I “lend” them happily with the knowledge that they might never come back.

As for movies, The Fella and I agreed some time ago that we would only lend our physical copies to his co-workers at Supercool Indie Videostore, who handle them carefully and return them expediently.

This is my favorite Kevin character, and probably my favorite Kevin-Dave sketch, and I am a very happy lady right now.

My favorite thing about this COMPLETELY INFURIATING sketch: how the B&W interstitial shows Kevin and Dave hugging all buddy-buddy so we don’t carry over our perfectly natural anxiety and hostility into the rest of the show.

LOVED Kids in the Hall when I was in college! So glad to see some of them still working, but love revisiting the old series.

I went to Montreal this weekend and at least half of my discussions were about how perfect Kids in the Hall was.
