Wow, this is beautiful. And so timely! I am turning 25 in 6 days (aging myself; feeling young) and I would love to work towards all of this. Mostly saying no, being kinder, and tightening up my instagram game. I expect I will still be indifferent to salad.

Beautiful! #3 and #4 are so, so important– establishing boundaries to take care of ourselves, while reaching out with compassion. I love love love this.

I just turned 29 and have only begun to be comfortable responding to Some Bullshit with a hearty “GTFO” so yay you!!

I’m turning 25 on Saturday. Sometimes I could swear The Toast’s editors are reading my mind.

I turned 25 last week! Sadly, I have no insta game whatsoever (no smartphone). But my boobs have been immensely saggy for ten years at least, so I’m used to that.

I am almost done being 25. It was a very eventful year, so much so that I feel like I never caught up to 25 and am still stuck on 24, or possibly 23. However, 26 will be my golden birthday, which I've been looking forward to ever since I learned of that concept!

I LOVE that all of these comments are from the 25 year olds, or almost 25 year olds, around the Toast. Adding myself in here – I’m halfway though 25, and this was great to see. I definitely feel like in the past year or so my ability to set boundaries – including with some of the hardest people to do it with, like my parents – had really gotten better.

Also, I’m sure your boobs are gorgeous. I am finally starting to love and accept mine after 15 years of hoping they’ll get bigger. They’re not getting any bigger, and I’m just gonna have to be okay with that.

I think I felt 23 until I was 27 or so. I was too busy to notice being 25. 29 is feeling pretty damn real, though.

Thank you for this! I just turned 25 and the majority of lists on the internet about turning 25 make it sound like it’s the end of your life or something?! 25 is just the beginning – maturing and becoming more and more comfortable with yourself and your boundaries are beautiful things.

I’m 51, and reading about a 25 year old woman who has conquered death makes me roar with both amusement and delight.

Vivid memories of 25..here’s a 1982 song by the Waitresses about being 25 and starting to figure things out, my age back then. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPSQ5rVDufQ
It gave me some comfort after my first serious break-up. favorite line “I’ve been reading more and looking up the hard words.” Tomorrow’s my birthday, happy birthday to all of you who are turning 25 this week.

I turned 25 a few months ago, and I’m working on accepting that I’m basically grown and this is the body I have, not going to suddenly grow more boobs or anything and my legs are probably always going to be more athletic and chunky than long and lean. It’s going OK.

I turn 25 in two weeks and I only just realized that maybe I should FEEL something about it. I’m trying to reflect a bit, I know this is a big birthday, but I just feel… fine. Maybe I am too lazy to reflect on my life? Maybe I’m worried that if I think too hard about it I will feel disappointed in myself? Anyway, this cartoon made me feel like maybe it’s okay to just feel… okay. She’s trying. I’m trying. We’re trying and we’re going to be fine.
