i honestly thought that was a puporseful lampoon of the fact that black women are more likely to be quoted in these kinds of fauxspiration fluff pieces/put in lists of high-achieving women or whatever if they are atheletes, bc their contributions to other fields are overlooked by the general media.

Sort of on-topic: send me your period vibes please! I have a gyno appointment scheduled in just over a week, so if I get my period in the next few days it'll be done by then and I won't have to reschedule it. But my period is doing that fake-out, "here's some sore boobs and hips but ha ha! No bleeding for you," and I am annoyed.

I just really hate having to make and reschedule appointments, if I can't go to this one I might just... never go.

Does your gyno have a policy about that? There shouldn't be any reason they can't do your exam, unless you're bleeding *extremely heavily.* That's what my doctor told me when I called them with that question at some point. So unless there's something else going on where they've specifically told you not to come in if you're on your period, you're probably fine.

I've always been told that it interferes with accuracy of the tests they do on the smear. It might depend on what you're testing for.
