Call me (call me) on the line

Call me, call me any, anytime

High-Maintenance But Nothing Unusual

Cover me with kisses, baby

Call me any day or night

Eccentric

Cover me with love

Roll me in designer sheets

Come up off your colour chart

Inscrutable

Cover up love’s alibi

Colour me your colour, baby

Colour me your car

I demand a series of "Requests Made by ______ During '______'" because music is too full of this not to.

I also realize I have no cachet in demanding such a thing.
I second both of the above comments, in the same order.
when i was very young my mother (who i share naturally very dark hair with) told me debbie harry had gone bald from bleaching and if i didn't want to go bald i should never bleach either - which is unfortunate cus its basically the first step to doing anything with my hair type. i got my hair colour changed for the first time in my life at 25, only a few months ago.

thanks mum.

That was my mom & perms. My hair is not only unfriendly to color, but straight.

Not that she was wrong about how much it burned my scalp, but I grew up in Texas in the 80s. What was I going to do, NOT perm my hair?
My mother told me if I didn't wear sunscreen, I'd get burned so badly that doctors would have to graft skin from my butt onto my face. She denies this, but I wear sunscreen religiously just in case.
Petula Clark's demands in "Call Me" (1965):

-Tell the one who loves you only
-Tell me
-Call me
-Don't be afraid
-Just call me
-Don't forget me
-Call me
-Trust me
-Take this love
-Call me
-Call me
-Maybe it's late, but just call me
-Tell me

(Tell her what? Why is it so late? Why has Petula Clark gone to the lengths of recording an easy listening staple and releasing it to AM radio instead of calling you herself?

It doesn't add up, and you should not listen to her. Somehow, through God knows what leverage, they've gotten to Petula too.)
This song makes me wish I lived in a world where it was possible to color people vehicles. It sounds like it would be fun.

Things Said To Jenny, A Stranger You Are Calling For The First Time, In Order of Creepiness

Fine, OK:
-I know you think I'm like the others before, who saw your name and number on the wall

-Jenny, I got your number

-I tried to call you before, but I lost my nerve

-I got your number on the wall

-Jenny, I called your number

Kinda Weird:
-Jenny, Jenny, who can I turn to?

-You give me somethin' I can hold on to

-Jenny, don't change your number

-For the price of a dime I can always turn to you

Creepy:
-Jenny, Jenny, you're the girl for me

-Oh, you don't know me, but you make me so happy

Lock your doors:
-I need to make you mine

-I tried my imagination, but I was disturbed
"Get out of my dreams, get into my car."

"Kiss me in the rain, make me feel like a child again...(?)"

"Kiss me twice, than once more, what Dunce I was before"

"Close your eyes, and I'll kiss you, tomorrow I'll miss you..."
REASONABLY NORMAL

"Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but here's my number, so call me maybe"
"It's hard to look right at you baby"
"Your stare was holding"
"Where you think you're goin baby?"

CUTELY ECCENTRIC
"I threw a wish in the well, don't ask me I'll never tell"
"I trade my soul for a wish, pennies and dimes for a kiss"

A TOUCH PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE
"You took your time with the call"
"You gave me nothing at all"
"I beg and borrow and steal, at first sight and it's real"

?!?!?!?!
"Before you came into my life I missed you so bad"

I correct that last one to "I missed you so badly" every damn time I hear it. I adore the song, but someone's gotta advocate for adverbs.
Oh Tommy Tutone, thanks for introducing so many creeps to my life.

- A Jenny
