Not quite fair – working in two guesses at once. Both wrong!

The correct answer, of course, is a magic ring made by Jenny McCarthy that cures autism.

Not to be overly angry on a Monday, but can we talk about Robin Thicke? I only just heard this song/saw the video, but what the heck?!? And now he’s saying it’s a “feminist anthem?” Short of breaking my keyboard at work, I really just can’t even…

I liked it better before I knew what TI was saying. I wasn’t that bothered by it to be honest, but “feminist anthem” is a bit of a freakin’ stretch.

No matter how much The Internet tells me it makes me a Bad Lady, I enjoy the HELL out of that song AND the video. TI’s hairbrush dance! Pharell singing to the sheep!

Also, I truly appreciate the commentary on ridiculous click-bait headlines. Thanks, Nicole, for letting me know I’m not alone. 🙂

My parents were going to name me Luna! Not because they were hippies, which they emphatically were not, but because I was supposed to be born on the day of the moon landing*. But I was born quite a bit later, so they didn’t.

*Hello, I am a visitor from the past. I will be happy to answer all of your questions about pre-cell-phone etiquette, high-rise jeans, VCRs, and the mysterious creaking sounds coming from my various joints. Yes, they do hurt!

Judging from what I’m seeing around campus, you will soon be inundated with questions about high-rise jeans. Like, where to get them, how to wear them with your bodysuit, what crop top looks best with them. It’s 1990 all over again out there.

It’s definitely making a come back- no matter how many times I tell my husband that the 80’s were a terrible time for everyone. Not that the 90’s were much better (although I barely remember them). I get secondhand embarrassment looking at old photos.

Recent research has determined that the 80s and 90s were not true decades, only pretend decades at best; strictly speaking this is also true of the 70s. From Wikipedia: “Perhaps as early as the early Carter administration, the ‘decade’ as a standard formation of the Zeitgeist finally imploded to survive in a merely nominal, vacuous form, following the unprecedented hyperinflation of decade consciousness of the 1960s, which had created unsustainable tensions in the idealized structure of the ‘decade’ as a spatialization of the Contemporary. From then on, the bands and the clothes were universally recognized as the shit they truly were.”

    Hope this helps.
