I’m traveling today, so you’re going to have to keep yourselves entertained on my behalf. In the meanwhile, I want you all to watch the Sweet Polly Oliver episode of Clone High, where Joan of Arc goes undercover as John D’ark to prove that women and animals can play basketball.
Then, if you have never watched Clone High before, I want you to promise me you’ll watch every episode this weekend so we can talk about it after I get back. I’ll reward you with entries the likes of which Femslash Friday has never seen — The Craft and Emma and Love & Basketball and hundreds more.

OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD I could talk about Clone High for the rest of my life
FORMATIVE AS ALL HELL
AAhhh!! so happy to see this here. Clone High pretty much defined my college experience. When I quote it now in real life, no one gets my references 🙁
I think I say “out of my fatties, you too bad skin” at least once a month and I am the only one to laugh. I feel so .. alone.
Clone High is why I have a roomba named Mr. Butlertron. I would be the happiest person in the world if I could figure out a way to get it to randomly say ‘That Scangrade is such a motherfucking showboat. He’s been that way since Amherst’ as it vacuums my floor.
More tea, Wesleyyyyyyy
YES PLEASE. It’s one of those shows that I just think about all the time.
Say…WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?
WAY WAY BACK IN THE 1980S
SECRET GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES
DUG UP FAMOUS GUYS AND LADIES
AND MADE AMUSING GENETIC COPIES
NOW THE CLONES ARE SEXY TEENS NOW
THEY’RE GONNA MAKE IT IF THEY TRY
Yay, The Craft is my favorite!
The first time I had sex, foreplay was basically watching all of Clone High on his laptop.
Same! Maybe it was the same dude and that’s his only trick.
Were there cotton balls? Wooden dowels?
Please tell me you did it to “G-Spot Rocks the G-Spot”.
LOVE & BASKETBALL! I was WONDERING why Meshell Ndegeocello’s “Fool of Me” just started playing softly in my living room. Pardon me, I have to go think about Monica and Sidra globetrotting around Europe together and NEVER going home to take of Omar Epps’ ridiculous knee/ego/kneego.

There’s also an episode where Joan and Cleo end up fighting in their underwear, right? I could swear that happened. DID I MAKE IT UP? POSSIBLE.
NOPE TOTALLY HAPPENED
“NOTHING BAD EVER HAPPENS TO A KENNEDYYYYYYYYYY!”
GET OFF MY DINGHY
Every time I see a picture of JFK this phrase immediately runs through my head.
Fer-ah suppah, I er a want a PAHHTY PLATTAH!
I INVADED HER BAY OF PIGS, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN
OR SHOULD I SAY CATHERINE THE SO-SO
Wait wait wait there are people that HAVEN’T watched Clone High out there? LEAVE THIS THREAD AND DON’T COME BACK UNTIL YOU THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU’VE DONE
I left and watched the first episode. WHY DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS?
created an intense debate account just to say that I had never heard of it before this post. I watched every episode this weekend and hope this will redeem me.
There are times when John Stamos is the cause of my demise, too.
Stamos!!! STAAAAMOOOSSSS!!!
I sing the makeover song ALL THE TIME but only about SLEEPOVERS
I DO THIS TOOOOO
Every single time someone mentions that they’re getting their makeup done or some sort of beauty ritual-type-thing I immediately start singing “MAKEOVER MAKEOVER, MAKEOVER MAKEOVER, MAKEOVER MAKEOVER FOR YOU AND MEEE”
For your Femslash Friday for Emma, I so dearly hope that you the coupling will be Emma and Miss Taylor/Mrs. Weston rather than Harriet.
I mean, I suppose if you added a quiet BDSM plot to Emma and Harriet (with Emma as obvs the submissive), I might get on board.
Who am I kidding. Anything Mallory does is good and right.
Guys, guys, the ‘drug’ episode! With the raisins and Gandhi with the unicorn thing and Hippy Abe!
I love Clone High but I rewatched it recently and GOOD LORD a lot of those jokes did not age well/literally do not make sense anymore. But at least the Makeover song is eternal.
GET OFF MY WEBSITE
I’M SORRY I CAN’T REMEMBER WHO THE HELL ALL THE C-LIST CELEBS THEY MAKE FUN OF ARE. :p
Gandhi is pretty C-list, yeah.
Wait, you mean to say that Ashley Angel from O-Town isn’t still a well-known cultural icon?!
DAMN YOU AMERICA
I was kind of hoping this would be a full Cleo/Joan Femslash Friday entry, but I will take any excuse to watch an episode of Clone High.
YOU’VE GOT CRABS, ASSFACE!!
Gandhi has ADD! Gandhi has ADD! You get it from toilet seats! Use a protective sheet!
(i am SO INTO this post oh my god)
Did you see the pool??
Srsly I think my husband and I quote clone high more than any other show. It’s so perfect.
I’ve never seen Clone High before but after watching this episode I feel like 12-year-old me had incredibly good taste in picking Joan of Arc as my confirmation saint . . .
THE CRAFT I will make good on my end of the deal.
I know this post is super old, but I’m just finally getting around to commenting on it and have to share:
Along with the only people I knew in college who knew Clone High, I threw a “beard party” like the one Gandhi imagines in the first episode – complete with everyone wearing a hastily-made construction paper beard. It was great. Especially when we took the party to the store to pick up more booze.
