One of the loveliest thing things about having an out gay member of ABOFL was that it never felt like a joke when sketches ended with the two of them kissing or falling in love. It was a joke, obviously, it was all jokes, but the idea of two men or two women kissing wasn’t the punchline.
(Sir is handsomely right to say so.)

I am in Ghana now and a) marriage proposals get thrown around ALL THE TIME when you talk to someone for so much as buying something and b) stuff like "On me? What? Of course not! check!" also happens all the time - my American turns of phrase just do not work here (is there a guidebook that explains what's standard spoken English?). Oof.
