   I’m pretty sure Stephen Fry had to be hypnotized to sing. If I’m remembering his memoirs correctly…

         I think so. I think the times Stephen Fry has sung on camera can be counted on one hand. Possibly one finger of one hand.

            There’s also this, which is one of my favourite videos with Stephen Fry in it in the world. I just really like how being with Robert Lindsay seems to help – I suppose in the same way that with stuff like this post and BOFL in general he seems happiest (and for my money by far most interesting/entertaining) when he’s with his Footlights etc folks.

   One of my London friends had a neighbor who would play piano at all hours. The music wasn't a problem – it was beautiful, actually – but my friend needed to have a word with her neighbor about playing at night. Finally, my friend knocked on the door, and Hugh Laurie answered. "Yes?" he asked.
   "Nothing," my friend said. "Love your playing, carry on!"
   (But it really was almost constant and kind of a nuisance)!

   Wasn't he extremely high on coke in this one? I think i remember this sketch being mentioned in the context of his drug days…
