HOW DO YOU NOT LET THIS GO TO AIR

Kyle Mooney has a very large VHS collection because of course he does..
I watched this on Hulu yesterday and was gobsmacked that SNL filmed it at ALL. So subtle. So sharp.
Here’s an idea
Kyle Mooney reads the Dirtbag series
as “sporty” kyle.
darn it I almost accidentally made a haiku
Funny, this morning I was cataloging my personal zine collection when I found a zine by Kyle Mooney and his brother. Then this post happened. It’s a Kyle Mooney kind of day.
Mooney is amazing but who I really feel bad for is the prop people who spent so much loving energy on that Cool Machine.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who, like, pathologically evaluates the pain that goes into production values. I was watching A New Hope earlier and unable to concentrate on the scenes for how loving the sets on Tatooine seem.
“What if Family Matters but white”
YEP
and “flat affect”
Because he should always be cut for quality first?
I will fucking ban you trolls
The establishing shots are what really makes it.
This is clever, but at the same time, I don’t find it funny. Which is kind of how I feel about a lot of Kyle Mooney’s sketches. I appreciate the thought behind them, but they don’t particularly amuse me.
I love his Chris Fitzpatrick character though because we all knew that dude in high school.
Kyle Mooney reminds me of The Drunkest Dude I Have Ever Met, who was dressed as Garth from Wayne’s World at a Halloween party, and who was so incessantly talkative and intrusive on our game of Cards Against Humanity that it cycled around from unbearable to the funniest thing ever, and the rest of us are forever united from having shared the experience of Garth.
Kyle Mooney is disturbingly close to the bottom of the Rolling Stone Ranking of SNL cast members, and frankly This Will Not Stand.
I get the feeling this is a pop culture parody of something I haven’t experienced. the “did I do something wrong” line makes me think that Urkel show? which Google tells me is Family Matters? literally would not even have gotten that without that and the suspenders =|
who knew 90s sitcom isolation would continue to have a mild ostracizing effect two decades later
You are correct! This was nearly an exact replica of an oft-repeated storyline on Family Matters. I think they may actually have used the exact same cool-ing device (so don’t feel too badly for those prop builders).
But don’t worry, it wasn’t funny then and it isn’t funny now, so you aren’t missing out on anything.
Bojack had an episode that riffed on the Stéphane Urquelle schtick as well – pretty funny:

Verrrry inte-resting. But Shtoopid.
can this please be a real show?
