Madeline Kahn Monday: The Kangaroo Hop

This week’s Madeline Kahn Monday has been brought to you by reader Martha aka Bittersweet.

It’s everything you ever wanted: Marty Feldman, Madeline Kahn, and Gene Wilder all vigorously bunny-hopping in an attic together. From The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes’ Smarter Brother (not Mycroft but the jealous Sigerson), which is not at all bad!

“My name is Jenny Hill, and I’m simultaneously funny and sad.” That’s a great line. Not every movie has one!

Me to a friend some years ago: “Gene Wilder reminds me of a guy I used to see.” (In this clip the resemblance is striking.)

Conversation turns to one of friend’s exes. She says: “You know what, he looked like Gene Wilder too!”

Wondering if any Toasties are with us?

I was IN LOVE with a Gene Wilder duplicate in middle school. It was unrequited love – my teenage mutant acne and violin case that I carried everywhere got in the way. I got over it, eventually.

Does anyone think Tom Hiddleston looks a little like Gene Wilder?? Or is it just me? I’m a big THiddles fan, so maybe I have a Gene Wilder thing? Not as bad as other kinks, I guess.

I keep thinking how tough that must have been to do in that beautiful costume! And with a big-ole hat on.

I do so love a movie where the protagonists are corpsing and barely holding in their laughter during the big lovescene.

You know, I can totally see the resemblance, now that you mention it. I think it's the curly blonde hair and oddly sensitive eyes.
