Since today seems to have sort of turned into an unofficial John Candy Day of Remembrance, let’s close things out with John’s unbelievably on-point Orson Welles impression on the old Billy Crystal show:

He’s terrifying, isn’t he? There is none of the John Candy light in his eyes, just dazed imperiousness. “I’m always on my mark. Move your camera.” The voice isn’t perfect, of course, but he nails the gestures and the clipped intonations and the eyebrows and the blazing contempt for indifferent camerawork, and that’s really what makes it.
