I don’t, okay? I just don’t. She creeps me out. And I know it’s SUPPOSED to be creepy, and unsettling, and comedy isn’t just about making you feel COMFORTABLE, MALLORY, YOU BOURGEOUIS PEASANT (THAT INSULT DOESN’T EVEN MAKE SENSE, OTHER MALLORY). But…gahh. I don’t know. I know the problem is with me, and not with the sketch. But I don’t even like to look at this link. Here, you watch it.

ugh we were talking about this at our hash club run yesterday and it was generally accepted that Chicken Lady is not an OK part of the KitH canon, and we were all v v squicked out.
When I was about ten or eleven years old, my parents had a dinner party, and got very drunk, and prank-called my my mom’s brother in character as the Chicken Lady. It was sort of a masterclass in adult-brand IDGAF, and to this day, my poor square uncle has no idea it was my parents.
So I have a bit of a soft spot for the unsettling and decidedly not-OK Chicken Lady.
Well, maybe if you loved life….

You are not alone! I don’t like her either. She’s the type of creepy that doesn’t translate into funny for me. Also, her sketches rely so much on just making fun of the weird character and so don’t include more clever scenarios and dialogue.

I’m with you on Mark. I was going to add that he made a surprisingly pretty lady, but then I googled for pictorial evidence, found http://the-toast.net/2013/08/01/male-comedians-re… and realized that the Toast already has this covered. Carry on.
Hate to disagree, Mallory, but Love and Sausages is the most uncomfortable KITH sketch.

Ah Geez, I liked the Chicken Lady sketches simply for the reason that she always carried on defiantly in the face of ridicule and/or horror. But the CL sketch where she was showing the Bearded Lady where she grew up? Made me feel bad for her (but OMG…still tragically funny).
