Next thing we know it’ll be the head of John the Baptist making the old clock tick.

Go in peace to love and serve the Lord, preferably by cracking tough cases in a blue convertible.

Yep, same for Lutherans (or I as like to call them, Catholics without the Latin, saints, and transubstantiation)

Transubstantion and a scoffing disbelief in the idea of a personal relationship with Christ. Is what I remember from my years of Catholic education. Oh, and the fact that we were The One True Church. But the part about Latin and saints sounds about right, too. Ooh, and pointy hats! We have pointy hats!

          ANYWAY.

I was hoping the mystery was how is it we can all recite the mystery of faith when in a group, but make us do it alone and we are lost. “we proclaim the mystery of faith… uh… wrath, envy lust greed, avarice, or is that another word for greed?”

Sorry, this former Seminarian/current liturgy snob is compelled to point out that this is merely a passage from the Great Prayer of Thanksgiving. Mainline Protestant churches use it in their communion liturgy, (perhaps with a little variation; I grew up with “great is the mystery of faith: Christ has died….”) but not all mainline protestant churches celebrate communion every Sunday.

I need this on a tote bag or a Lay Eucharistic Minister robe or something.

Is that Nancy at the altar? Actually, it wouldn’t surprise me that she grew up and became an Episcopalian priest.
