Speaking of bargains, Sephora just snuck a bunch of their Black Friday/Holiday sets back onto their website. They don’t seem to be together anywhere on the website but if you know of anything you missed out on you can search and grab it. I just ordered a set of 3 Nest rollerballs for $10 plus one of the Fresh Sugar lip sets which is still maybe too much to pay for fancy chapstick but whatever.

I recently went to (my first ever!) burlesque show with my best friend, and the routine we both liked best involved, basically, that robe (but in pink) and those slippers. I want to swan around the house feeling glamorous and capable of removing my clothes in at least a remotely sexy manner!

Does anyone want to talk about lingerie? I have never been a lingerie person and neither is my husband but I have been thinking that I want to try some out. But it’s so expensive and what if we hate it or it doesn’t fit and looks ugly? So, for example, this Vicky’s Secret thing that’s posted here–what if my belly is much fatter than my 36C bra size would otherwise indicate? It’s not gonna fit, right?
i actually had good luck with nighties from H and M–not the most exciting, but a good start, and you can at least sleep comfortably in them.
As someone who is a lingerie person but who is dating a person who considers lingerie to be a nuisance that gets in the way of the good stuff, you might consider starting with a chemise (sexy nighties). They tend to be more comfortable, flattering, and easier to remove to your average lingerie. I don’t love VS (quality issue); Hanky Panky is my go to semi-affordable option; La Perla is my splurge (and even then only on sale).
La Perla is the beeeesssstttt. I’m a lingere person, for sure. I’ve liked frilly underwear since I was a kid. I’m the kind of girl who only wears bra & panty sets that match. Lots of teddies and fab robes and thigh highs. I have them for me because they make me feel wonderful. The touch of silks….
The only rule of lingere is that it should make the wearer feel like her most glorious self. It doesn’t matter if it’s “sexy” but doesn’t make you feel great. Maybe it’s a lace jumpsuit, maybe it’s a silk robe that goes to the floor, maybe it’s a neon pink set with high waisted panties. But it’s all about what feels good on your body.
Do you have friends who would go to the mall with you to try things on? Its always mysterious how things that look cute on a hangar are hideous on me or vice versa. This is doubly true for lingerie unfortunately. .
I too am not a lingerie person and neither is my husband, but I do wear bras and underwear on the reg so my concession to lingerie is to have a couple of pretty, lacy bras and some lacy or mesh underwears on hand. Which only get worn occasionally but are much appreciated when they are.
Try it on! Worst case scenario, you realize it’s not for you.
