This week I got to meet a lovely bunch of Canadian Toasties, and also ate poutine for the first time in my young life. Both of them were wonderful.
DID YOU KNOW, that in Canada, they serve shrimp at McDonald’s? It is a true story. Did you know that in Canada, your phone doesn’t work, so you have to just look for places when you’re out driving? I guess that’s all I have to say about Canada right now.
This week brought us many things.

I am so sorry, Mallory, but if you ate that poutine in Vancouver it doesn’t count. Eating poutine in Vancouver is like eating a philly cheesesteak in Seattle. But, it’s a good start!

You are the best, but this thing where sometimes clicking on links to comment or read more or anything at all will sometimes take me to an ad instead is getting really tiresorme and has kept me from reading and saying interesting things because I get frustrated and leave. Is it you or is it my computer? my computer is awful, but it seems to only happen here.

It happens to me too. Only on my iPad (probably phone too but haven’t tried) and only on the first time I try.

Hi people! I recently did some updates to the templates that should help with these problems, especially on mobile devices. Unfortunately, you don’t get the newest version of the site until you tell your phone/mobile/stone tablet to clear its cache and cookies. I should add, in case anyone is looking to fix this, that I’ve noticed it happening especially when I click links relatively soon after coming to The Toast. I have assumed that that’s because (at least on my phone), the bars at the top of the page (bar ad + recent stories banner) take the longest to load, and the text below them shifts around significantly when they do load. So I thought that was leading me to mis-click. But I’m not sure.
And, I’m running Chrome on whatever the latest Android is for Nexus 4.

That is the conclusion I came to as well—but for me it happens on my computer (Firefox/Mac OS 10.85 at home, Chrome/Mac OS 10.9.3 at work). I don't have a smartphone.
It happens to me on my laptop too – Mac/safari. I will clear cookies, try to remember my login details and try again!
Also, that evil bunny picture genuinely creeps me out somehow.
